How It Works
FAQs
Can you cut my existing glass panel?
No. Existing toughened (tempered) safety glass cannot be cut or modified. Attempting to do so will cause the glass to shatter.
Instead, we measure your existing panel and arrange for a brand-new toughened safety glass panel to be professionally manufactured with the pet door opening completed before the toughening process.
Can I supply my own pet door?
Yes. We're happy to install customer-supplied pet doors provided they're suitable for your application.
For glass installations, we recommend having the pet door available during the measure so we can confirm the exact cut-out size and ensure it's compatible with your door or window.
I've got a cat and a large dog. Is one pet door suitable?
Sometimes, but not always.
A flap large enough for a Labrador or Border Collie can be difficult for a small cat or puppy to push open due to its weight. During our measure we can recommend the most suitable pet door based on the size, breed and number of pets in your household.
How close to the bottom of the glass can the pet door be installed?
This depends on the style of pet door and the type of glass.
Square pet doors can often be installed very close to the bottom of the panel, making them ideal for smaller pets. Circular and larger pet doors usually require greater clearance from the edges of the glass to maintain strength and comply with manufacturing requirements.
We'll position the pet door at the safest and most practical height for your pet.
How long does it take to get a pet door
After measuring and quote approval:
Single glazed glass: approximately 7–10 business days
Double glazed units: typically 3–6 weeks depending on the manufacturer
We'll provide an estimated installation date when your order is confirmed.
I'm unsure what size to get?
During our onsite measure we'll help you choose the correct size based on:
Your pet's breed and weight
Shoulder height
Whether they're still growing
The location of the installation
Future pets you may own
Our goal is to install a pet door that's comfortable for your pet to use while maintaining the appearance and strength of your door or glass panel.
